Grounds for Seduction by Shelli Stevens

Grounds for Seduction

Description:
Madison Phillips is focused on making her new coffee shop a success. She also wouldn’t mind if the sexiest cop in Seattle, Gabriel Martinez, would start seeing her as more than just his best friend’s little sister. When her shop gets robbed and she’s the only one who can identify the increasingly violent Espresso Bandit, Gabe’s there to keep her safe. Having Gabe act as her personal bodyguard is certainly no hardship, and Maddy’s ready to try anything to tempt him into providing some hands-on protection.

Review:

Grounds for Seduction by Shelli Stevens is the first book in her Seattle Steam series.  Usual romance stuff…. girl fancies brothers friend, he won’t touch her because she is his best friends little sister. But …… the lady won’t take no for an answer, and as he is rebound guy, and she doesn’t want forever, and she won’t tell her brother, what’s the problem?

Madison had led a pretty nice life, a pampered and spoilt life if you ask Gabriel (Gabe) so he didn’t think her idea of a coffee shop would last for long. After tasting her mocha, he’s sure she won’t last long, but Maddie is out to prove her critics wrong, and after hiring a professional barista, the coffee shop is ready for business.

The espresso bandit (named by the media) is a nice twist, we have a little mystery as to who he is, also what is Gabe’s secret ? Why won’t he do long term ?

The thief is after Maddie when he robs her coffee shop, and he hits her with a gun.  She is the only one to have seen him without his mask, so she needs to be silenced.

Gabe gets guilt tripped into babysitting Maddie, and that is where the fun begins, Maddie is determined to seduce the big, bad cop, and after a few failed attempts Maddie gets her man.  But what next ? Will Maddie and Gabe want more than one night together ? Will the thief be caught ?

It’s a fun afternoon read, and a few laughs are guaranteed.

Hi I’m an avid reader. I also write reviews for the books I read. Come in and say hi. You can find me on GoodReads, Bookbub, and NetGalley 👩🏻‍💻 I also review on an awesome site The Reading Cafe (run by Barb and Sandy) So ........ More about me 🤨 I’m almost 50 🤫 I’ve been married (for 27 years) I have a 30 year old son. I had a daughter, I lost her a week before her 21st birthday 😥 and it’s been 5 years since she’s been gone (and not a day goes by that I don’t miss her) I work as a salad 🥗 chef 👩‍🍳 in a restaurant, haven’t been there long (before that I worked in Tesco) a large supermarket in the UK. I also like to make craft items (and if your really lucky) and I’ll try to post my efforts on here 😉 My daughter loved butterflies (so part of my blog name is dedicated to her) I’ve taken on her love of butterflies (I have several tattoos) so I’m probably going to throw quiet a few butterflies on here 😉 I LOVE PENGUINS 🐧 💕so I’m also going to be putting a few on here (my library holds a few) 😉 <img src="https://d1vbo0kv48thhl.cloudfront.net/images/featured_book_reviewer_big.png"
