My Review…..
Not as short as the first book “Magic in the Wind”, but not as long as the rest of the sisters books.
Kate is the next oldest sister, she’s an award winning author, and she’s home to stay. She wants to continue to write, but also run a bookstore/coffeehouse. The ideal place is the “old mill” it’s very rundown, and Kate knows she won’t be able to do the work on her own.
She’s travelled the world and now she’s ready to settle down, and where better than Sea Haven.
But although she’s a best seller, she’s shy and not at all like her characters.
Matt is an Army Ranger “retired” he now owns with family a construction firm. He’s always been a bit of a ladies man, but he’s really only ever had eyes for Kate, she’s always been too young for him, but now she’s back in Sea Haven, he’s going to persuade her that they belong together.
So Kate and Matt begin to plan out the renovations, each liking the other, but not wanting to put themselves in a vulnerable position.
There is something amiss in Sea Haven, an evil entity has targeted Kate and those who interact with her. Kate needs all her wits about her. Her sympathy for this spirit could get her into trouble, but with Matt and her sisters on Kate’s side, she hopes to lay the spirit to rest before it can seriously hurt someone.
The author is setting the scene for the other sisters, the interaction between the sisters is funny, it’s also very touching In places. The author is so descriptive in her telling of the surrounding places, I can picture then so clearly.
So will Matt get his Drake sister? Will Kate be able to calm the spirit enough for it to leave Sea Haven? And who’s next for the aisle?
