Frayed (Willow Springs Series) by Laura Pavlov

Description…..
Bad boy football star. Innocent girl next door. Two different worlds. One small town. A million reasons why they should have stayed away from one another.
My name is Adelaide Edington, and my life was mapped out for me before I even entered the world.
Who I’d date, where I’d attend college, what I’d be when I grew up.
But there comes a time in everyone’s life when they face a fork in the road.
Should I go left, or should I go right?
It didn’t matter as long as I didn’t remain stagnant any longer.
Jett Stone opened me up to a whole new world.
Reminding me that it was okay to find my own way.
I could have roots in Willow Springs and still spread my wings and fly.
What I didn’t expect was to fall in love with the broody football player.
The boy I’d known since kindergarten.
The boy who I wasn’t supposed to be with—but had somehow become my everything.

My Review…..
A small town romance that will just melt your heart.
Adelaide has never really known what struggle is like, her life has been full of fun, laughter and love.
But with that came certain restrictions, her father and mother being in charge of the town (mayor) so her life has had to conform, no scandals, and a safe life at all times! Being faced with a decision has Addy in total meltdown! Can she really leave Willow and all she’s comfortable with? Or will she chase her dream of becoming a journalist?
Jett is what we’d call a bad boy, rules are meant to be broken. Girls know they won’t go steady with him, he needs out of this town, being brought up by his grandmother and mother has brought its own problems, a single parent is looked down on by this town! His only chance, get good grades and get a university place away from the gossips.
Addy (or ACE as Jett likes to call her) and Jett have known each other forever, growing up in the same small town.
As they grew up, they grew apart, but each is aware of one another.
They have a few classes together, but it all takes off when Jett is asked by Addy to help her with maths!
Spending more time with each other causes friction with her boyfriend and the football team he’s on.
But it’s a harmless friendship, isn’t it?
I’ve read the Jade Series, and loved it. So I did think it might be a little like that.
And it is up to a certain extent. But any similarities soon end once you get into the book.
Secondary characters are just brilliant, her friends are all amazing and such a diverse group too. Loved the journal they all write in.
Jett’s friends are great too, in fact besides the idiot boyfriend and the issues he brings with him, there isn’t a character that isn’t needed there, all have a role to play, all support Jett and Addy really well.
Jett is not your typical bad boy, he’s studious in his own way, but he knows what he wants.
Addy I think has the most issues, trying to do what’s right, whilst trying to break free, she’s lead a more sheltered life and it shows.
But they are trying to make a better life. Neither thought about becoming more than friends.
Crossing that line can bring heartache and sadness, but what if it brings joy and a love that just fills your soul?
It’s beautifully written, well thought out, and executed with precision that I’ve come to love about this author.
And I can’t wait to come back and visit Willow Springs.
Frayed is about making your own decisions wether it’s right or wrong.
