Asher (Keepers Of The Lake Book 4) by Emilia Hartley

Description….
He never has trouble with women—until he finds the one he wants.
As an undefeated MMA fighter, Asher Knuden attracts women faster than sugary drinks attract wasps. He’s good looking. He’s confident. He’s charming. And he has more money than he knows what to do with. His winning streak (at least with women) ends, though, when he comes across a little fox shifter who stirs his blood like no other. He’s more than ready to change his flirty, uncommitted ways for her—but she’s not even remotely interested. In fact, she acts as if he’s a villain she needs to escape whenever he comes close.
How can he convince her that they’d be good together if they’re never even in the same room?
Zara Torres has had more than enough of overbearing, violent men. Even though she has moved halfway across the country to avoid them, she’s still half terrified of her father and the fat middle-aged fox her parents plan for her to marry. The last thing she needs is a big, bloodthirsty dragon homing in on her like she’s his fated mate. She’s seen his fights on TV, and she doesn’t need any of that kind of destruction in her life.
She’s just a little fox, and she wants to be left alone.
So why does she feel like throwing herself into Asher’s arms every time he comes around?
Asher is the fourth book in Emilia Hartley’s Keepers of the Lake series. Like all Emilia’s books, this one is steamy romance with a strong female lead, a super-hot male shifter, and a satisfying HEA. It can stand alone but is even better when read in connection with the others.

My Review….
I have to admit Asher has to be my favourite dragon so far.
He gives off this vibe of hard man. A wrestler/fighter that’s had a real good run. He’s undefeated, and a real showman!
He tries so hard to shake off that image in this book. All he wants is a female to love him, not his money, not his fame.
Zara doesn’t have long to sort things out, college isn’t working for her and she knows if her parents know this then she will have to go back home and marry a horrible man! Her roommate isn’t much better, a selfish girl that only thinks of herself and money! She needs a miracle!
Asher has been in the last three books, and I did wonder when he’d get his book. He is the life of the group, he keeps their spirits up and is always a clown, but he’s also the first to jump to anyone’s aid.
Meeting a cute fox in the forest has his dragon going crazy, he acts like a little puppy, but the cute fox doesn’t want anything to do with him.
They meet again in the supermarket and Asher really does try too hard. But his little fox won’t even smile at him.
Can his luck really turn when he meets her for the third time?
Another great read.
Asher is a great character, Asher is really trying to get close to Zara, his dragon is convinced they are mates, but the more money he throws at the problem, the more she pulls away! So watching him figure it out is a lot of fun.
I loved Zara, her sense of right and wrong, her wit was dry and comebacks were quick. She knows that her parents care, but mating an old man is not the way to go. She thinks
A slow burn romance that’s one of the better ones in this series.
And what about Zane? He’s kicking off big time in the lake, he’s getting impatient, but how can they free him when they aren’t sure if he’s a friend or an enemy!
I’m ready to read the next book. I need to know more about the monster in the lake.
