Fate of the Wolf: A sexy paranormal romance about second chances and a fated mates love that conquers all. (Pack Loyalty Book 1) by Amelia Shaw

Description…..

After a painful break up with her childhood sweetheart, Allara left her pack, her father and her life behind. She moved to the city, got a job and a new start. It was the only way to heal her broken heart.

Then Reid barges back into her life… and he comes with some terrible news. Her father, the Alpha, is dying. The chosen leader is a cruel beta with plans to destroy their pack. As a female Alpha herself, Allara is the only chance the pack has. Against her better judgment, Reid wrangles his way into her heart once again and convinces her to go back home.

Pack life hasn’t really changed, and seeing Reid everyday is a special type of torture. If only she’d stayed in the city. If only she’d never set eyes on Reid again. If only her father wasn’t so sick. If only, if only…

If only Reid hadn’t let the Alpha convince him to break Allara’s heart. He’d regretted it every day since. But he must put those feelings aside to save the pack that adopted him at birth, even if it tears his soul every time he catches Allara’s sweet scent or witnesses her dazzling smile. He doesn’t deserve a second chance. Not with a woman like her.

Can Allara overcome the pain of her past while saving the pack she was born to lead? Or will she be forever tortured by the broken promises of a man that shattered her life, her heart and her future.

Book 2 Love of the Wolf
My Review…..
Allara is without a pack, she’s been that way for a while now, but the bar she works at fills the spot of family, there isn’t much she wouldn’t do for them, including throw a drunk out that’s harassing her barmaid friend, she’s buried her past and heartache deep, but the moment Reid is there, and the past comes rushing to the fore…..
Finally Reid has found his alpha, well the alpha’s daughter. The pack need her back, their almost alpha isn’t a good wolf, so he needs to convince Allara to come home, he knows he lost her heart five years ago. But this is bigger than them, the survival of the pack is at stake…..
Allara and Reid are meant to be together, you just have to read them together and know they are fated to be a pair of mated wolves. But there is a lot of history between these two, childhood friends, young love and then first lovers. It seems that both Allara and Reid have feelings for one another, but she can’t go back there, he broke her heart last time, he could destroy her this time if she lets him near again.
Reid knows he broke his mates heart, he had his reasons, but he knew it was for the best. But now, now the pack needs her, she has to come back and take her place, but seeing her in the bar, happy and smiling he knows he has no right to ask her.
The feelings between them are still there, but neither can act on it.
When she returns to her home (albeit begrudgingly) Allara has to adjust to life in the pack, and after five years it’s not going to be easy!
You have the usurper, he’s been promised the position of alpha, and the alpha’s daughter! You have the alpha who’s dying, and just wants to say sorry.
There is only one issue I have, there seemed to be a chunk missing between Allara coming home, and the next day waking up in Reid’s arms! Other than that, it’s a short and fast paced story. I’m hoping we get another book soon.
A great start to a series. And an author that is definitely on my automatic reading pile.
