Six years ago, I made a mistake. The worst mistake I could have ever possibly made. I fell in love with the wrong person and … I told him.

Ryan’s always been with me ever since I can remember. It’s been the two of usβ€”side by side. Through every new beginning, every new β€˜family’, and every failure. Is it any wonder that the love I had for him turned into something differentβ€”something deeper? Something utterly rotten? And is it any wonder that he hates me for it now?

π‘Ήπ’šπ’‚π’
I’m a damaged soul, and she’s the only thing that’s ever held me together. But the one woman I want is the one woman I can never have.

She thinks I hate her for her confession, and maybe a part of me does. What I hate more, though, is that I have to push her away to keep her safe. That I have to pretend like I don’t fucking want her when she’s all I’ve been able to think about for the last six years.

We’re no fucking Romeo and Juliet. We’re much worse than that. A love like ours was doomed from the start.

Poisoned Paradise: A Taboo Romance (Black Heart Romance presents Heaven & Hell) by Lucy Smoke

The author does give a spoiler/warning at the beginning of the book, and it’s up to you if you read it. Spoilers don’t usually bother me I’ll still read it, but I try to avoid them if possible. I didn’t read the spoiler……

Twincest?!?! Oh no I don’t think so, I know it’s taboo but still it’s not really my thing. But I persevered with the book, even though the feelings between the main characters gave me icky feelings!!

But I do urge you to read it, it’s a great story. It’s about forbidden feelings, misunderstandings and love getting its happy ending eventually!!

Ryan and Willow are both foster kids being together all the time has their feelings grow into something more. Then Willow does the worse thing possible, she professes her love for her best friend! That’s the wrong thing to do.

The story does jump in time in a few places, but you don’t lose the thread of the story. There are years that come between Ryan and Willow, but their feelings never change for one another, even though it’s wrong!
About half way? through it changes

I’ve not read any of this authors work before, and I’ve not read any of the previous books in the series. But I’ll definitely be doing both at some point.

Ryan has to be mean to push the only woman he’s ever loved, and boy is he mean! A bully and a thug, how Willow never walked away I’ll never know! I did think Willow a little naive in parts, and I did want to shake her a few times!

It’s really well written and it brings out all your emotions. And the surprise/twist is a good one. I did hope at some point I’d be proved right and I was, but still….. it was touch and go if this couple would ever get past their β€œtwin” love for one another. Their is a villain (of sorts) in this book, and I did wonder if they would get there just desserts in the end.

So I’m going to recommend this book. If your a little doubtful about the issues in this book, then read the spoiler.
