My Review
Second book starts where the first book ends (so you definitely need to read book one first)
Kier is still wanting Sailor, but knows he should do his duty and agree to the arrange marriage that’s been set up for him! But he wants out and he wants Sailor, but we can’t always get what we want! And Kier is not use to everything not going his way!
Sailor can’t have Kier, she knows that, and so she’s gone! She’s left, and she won’t be returning! But that does stop her longing and missing him!
With the pair (each telling their side of the story) you feel their frustrations at their situations, you feel the anger as they are kept apart, when really they are so much stronger together.
But with secrets being kept from one another, you wonder how and when this couple will ever be together. You also want to bang their heads together in places! The push and pull between them will cause you no end of frustration!
The angst and tension will keep you turning those pages until the early hours of the morning!
And when he decides enough is enough, he sets out to bring Sailor home. She thinks he doesn’t care (they haven’t seen each other for over six months!) she thinks he just let her go, but Kier had been keeping tabs on her, and both are in for a surprise!
But that doesn’t mean Sailor is going to go quietly, oh no, she makes him work for her trust and for her love (although it’s always been his) she’s had time to think things through, and Sailor is one determined and strong character.
The additional characters give you respite from all the tension that goes on. His brother isn’t one I’m too quick to trust! His sister Piper is a great ally, and we get a little light relief in the form of Kier’s guards/friends (they think the banter between Kier and Sailor is a source of comedy that they tease Kier with)
And the “old school mafia” they are to be messed with, but if Kier wants Sailor in his life, he’s going to have to go against them!
It’s a really good book, I throughly enjoyed it. A little dark in places, a little predictable, but still had enough between the pages to keep me interested.
