My Review
Book two keeps us in this world with the “five families”, you don’t need to read the first book, but it does give you background on these characters.
Enzo has been groomed from an early age as the next mafia boss, so shows no emotion or mercy to his enemies. And now he’s going to need all his strength to stay away from the only woman he’s ever really loved!
Sofia is also mafia, from a different family, but ran in the same circles as Enzo. Now a fashion designer, Sofia is happy with where her life is, but it’s all about to come crashing down!
They’ve known each other since they were small children, they grew up together and swore to always be friends, but mafia children can’t really be friends with other bosses children, and a tragic incident puts them out of each other’s reach…. But love has a way of getting what it wants.
Really well thought out and plotted out with great detail. Lots of action, and plenty of angst. I really liked the flashbacks to their childhood (I love flashbacks, it saves on time for me) Twists and secrets try to keep Enzo and Sofia apart. Both have secrets that could hurt one another and ruin their families. So friends are all they can really be! You do have to wonder if it’s better to let her go and be safe!
So can Enzo and Sofia become more than friends? Can they trust each other with their deepest secrets? Or will the Russians split this pair forever?
