The End of Hatred (Etherya’s Earth Book 1) by Rebecca Hefner (Narrated by Devon Wilcox)
Description
These are dangerous times on Etherya’s Earth….
Slayer Princess Miranda, heir to the throne, has hated the Vampyres for a thousand years. Since the Awakening, she’s fought to protect her people, choosing to be a warrior more than a royal. When a female Vampyre washes up on the shore of her compound’s riverbank, she seizes the moment to take the offensive.
Sathan, King of the Vampyres, distraught at his sister’s disappearance and captivity, agrees to travel with Miranda to resect the Blade of Pestilence, also hoping to change his people’s state of endless war. Although the woman hates him due to the constant raids on her compound for the Slayers’ life-giving blood, he can’t help but admire the stubborn and strong princess.
As their journey progresses, both begin to understand that they are aligned in their hatred of Crimeous, leader of the Deamons, as well as their hope for peace between the Slayers and Vampyres. Determined to fight their growing attraction, they forge a tentative truce. But old wounds run deep, and trust is scarce. Their faith in each other must remain strong, or all will be lost….
The Etherya’s Earth series is best listened to in order so that the listener can enjoy the evolution of the characters. After all, the author loves a good twist and wants the listener to uncover them organically. However, listeners of romance, rest assured, each audiobook has its own featured hero/heroine and a happily ever after ending.

My Review
I’ve read and loved these books, so when the audio option came out, I was there.
Devon Wilcox has such a soothing voice. The inflections, tones and excitement he uses to tell the story had me listening for too many times in the day 😝
The story is just amazing, it tells of two factions that are constantly at war with one another.
Until a vampyre and slayer are forced to work together.
The story is a fast paced action tale. The romance is steamy, and the banter between Miranda and Sathan has you chuckling, even more so when the story is told to you. Throw in Deamons and it’s the start of a great adventure and new series.

My Review
Again read by Devon Wilcox (who is becoming a narrator I love to listen to)
This book tells of forbidden love and continuing the battle between Vampyre/Slayer/Daemons.
Devon gives Rebecca’s story an edge, his tones just add to the tale. Closing your eyes you see the story unfold. How Lila was forsaken by her fiancé and how she finds love with another.
How Latimus yearned for another man’s woman. How bitter he had become as he watched her grow into a beautiful Vampyre and knowing she would never be his.
And the Daemons are causing trouble for both sides.
How do Lila and Latimus find love? You need to listen to Devon tell you.

My Review
This book is my second favourite (but a close second) story in this series.
DarkRip and Arderin aren’t suppose to be together, in fact how this story works out was just a touch of genius.
Devon gives DarkRip that air of malice and loathing that he has for Arderin, but he also gives DarkRip an innocence that Reading doesn’t always give you. In fact when I read, I hear Devon’s voice 😉
Arderin is a feisty Vampyre that doesn’t really do authority and is a constant bane to her brothers.
There is hilarity, there is banter, and there is sadness.
And Devon delivers Rebecca’s story with such passion, I tend to listen to the audio for far to long😉
