The Priest: Bratva Blood Five: (A Dark Mafia Romance) by SR Jones
Description…..
They call me The Priest, but there’s nothing holy about me.
Call sign: Priest
Occupation: Mercenary
Assignment: Hostage Extraction
The assignment was simple: Extract the hostage. Take out all hostiles. Relocate the hostage to a safe house.
The assignment was simple…
Until it wasn’t.
Roze is a mafia princess, but she doesn’t live in that world.
Innocent, young, and naïve, she’s become mine to protect.
Just a broken girl looking for some humanity, and a man with nothing left to give.
Yet, she’s the light to my dark and my soul yearns for her.
Lines are about to be crossed. Morals burned to the ground.
She’s the first thing I’ve wanted in forever, and I’m not about to walk away.
God help me.
This is a dark romantic suspense and trigger warnings may apply.

My Review……
I haven’t read any of the previous books, it does say you don’t need to, and I don’t think I’ve missed anything.
Roze might be a mafia princess, but that’s so far from the truth, her father might be a mafia boss, but she has nothing to do with that life (but she’s happy to take the money!) and now her father’s lifestyle sees her a hostage in a horrible place, and by men that give her salacious looks!!
Priest hates waiting, he’s more a man of action, but they need full intel before going in to rescue Roze.
He’s been a sailor and now a mercenary, nightmares keep him awake at night, so meditation and reading keeps him balanced (hence his nickname) taking this job isn’t his usual thing, but the picture of Roze called to him, and he knew it would be him to rescue her!
Priest’s job is to retrieve Roze and take out the men who kidnapped her. Easy, the kidnappers are amateurs and Priest is good at his job.
Getting her to the safe house was no problem, the problem priest has is Roze herself, she’s looking at him as a hero, as he’s no hero, he needs to nip that in the bud.
The start of the book was fast paced and really well written.
Not too gory or graphic, and the rescue was pretty credible (no explosions or James Bond moments) if priest like to work on his own, then quiet and stealth would be more him.
Liking Roze, but did it make her a hypocrite to not like daddy’s work, but accepts his money (nice apartment and good college) but being young gives her that childlike logic sometimes.
Spending time with Roze is doing nothing for Priests equilibrium! The scent of her, her brave face, her kindness, they all draw him to her, but he knows nothing can come of it, she’s a job and you don’t mess with a job. But try telling his heart and dick that! His heart is falling for her and the other part of him is onboard to give her what she’s hinting at!
Then they get the call they were dreading, they are still being tracked! Priest and Roze need to leave the safe house and get somewhere safer.
So can priest get Roze to safety? And then what? Can he really walk away from someone who quietens his demons, from someone who lightens his days and makes him want to be a better man?
I’m definitely going back to read the others.
