Trouble in the Green Lands (Seeder Wars Series Book 2) by J. Houser
Description
The Game is Changing.

It’s been three years since Saff made the life-changing decision to embrace her Seeder nature and move to the Green Lands. She loves her job, her husband, her Seeder family, and everything about this enchanting new realm. Life couldn’t be more perfect. Except for the disturbing new war tactics displayed by their enemies, the Ivies.

Rachel’s senior year in high school is anything but typical. Discovering her true identity as a Seeder means learning new abilities, hiding from Ivy assassins, and preparing to leave the human world behind. But something’s not right with her powers, causing crippling self-doubt and leading her to make unlikely allies. Rachel’s ready to join the rebellion, helping to put an end to centuries of unrest amongst the green folk.

But people and promises are rarely as they seem in a war filled with secrets and misdirects.
Far from being on the same page, Rachel and her new mentor, Saff, realize they can only take the needed leap of faith by trusting each other. The ultimate goal for them both is to stay alive, find out who they can trust, and just maybe, if they can manage that, they can stop a never-ending war.

My Review
*maybe spoilers*
I throughly enjoyed book one, so when book two came out I grabbed it with both hands. I would recommend you read the first book as it does continue with previous storylines and characters.
We jump to three years in the future. Saff is now a teacher, and a fully “bloomed” seeder, not living in the human world anymore, she’s fully embraced her life as a seeder.
Ben if you remember is Saff’s brother, and his job is now a soldier/guardian of the land that bridges the lands between the Ivies and his interest in Heather seems reciprocated.
Devin is happily married to Saff and is a teacher to the older Seeder children.
Rachel is a human with a secret (but at first she isn’t aware she’s different) she’s living a good life, doing well at school, a boyfriend and a family that loves her, that is until she starts to “bloom” (a term where the human side is overtaken by the seeder genes, and magic starts to appear)
Saff and Rachel don’t start out as friends, but over the pages we see them battle against each other and the Ivies that want them all dead! Can Rachel accept Saff’s guidance?
This book is a fast paced read. It does jump around a little. It’s full of battles and action. The Ivies are taking the battle for supremacy to the next level, so the seeders need to up their game to stay ahead of their bitter enemies. (It’s a battle both sides have fought for many years)
It has twists and turns, it has more detail (if possible) than the first book, and it also has a surprise that I didn’t see coming.
I’d say it’s probably YA as romance doesn’t play a big part in this book. But lack of passion doesn’t detract from a really great read.
And now we wait for book three …….
