My Review
This is a short story that’s meant to be read after reading “Checkmate”, well I didn’t and now I’ve fallen in love with both Paige and Joey I need their story, so I’ve read it backwards again!!
Paige is a great character, she’s no shy and retiring maiden, oh hell no! She’s a kicka$$ woman who knows what she wants and knows how to get it. Being Queen of the Underworld takes a certain type of person, and Paige definitely gives off that vibe.
Joey is my new book boyfriend 😉 tall, dark and dangerous. King of his own empire, nothing or nobody stands in his way. The o my person ever to stand up to him has been Paige (and they are carrying lots of baggage from their previous book)
It’s really well written, and although just a short story, it packs a lot in.
I liked how the main characters bounce off of one another. Funny moments counterbalanced the dark moments.
A few scenes will stick with me for a while (the stripper scene for one 😉)
So now I’m off to KU (kindle unlimited) to find their story…..
Highly recommended read (but only after reading Checkmate)
